Tipperary is boasts 11 quality courses, each one offering a unique challenge and a distinct character. Golfers visiting Tipperary can test their skills on her golf courses dunes, challenging watertraps and other hazards.

If the mood suits a relaxing eighteen holes can be played on mature parkland tree-lined fairways. Whatever your golfing preferences Tipperary always has something that will put some zing in your swing! Courses can be found in Dundrum, Thurles, Cahir and Ballykisteen to name but a few. There is also a driving range on the Dublin Road just outside of Cashel, and a Pitch and Putt course at Larkspur Park where you can brush up on your skills before hitting the courses!

Shopping in Cashel

There are numerous shops in the town of Cashel, all just a short walk away from our accomodation. The Kilkenny shop has become well known for its extensive selection of jewellery, accessories, crafts and giftware. Daverns of Cashel houses top of the range fashion labels and designs.

Alongside the Rock of Cashel, is a number of gift shops, including the Rock House where you can find little irish treasures to bring home to loved ones after your magical visit to the Rock of Cashel.

Eating Out

Cashel has many great restaurants and traditional Irish pubs all within walking distance of Aulber House. Chez Hans is ideally located on the walk to the Rock of Cashel,  a restaurant built in a church, the whole style of the place is superb and provides an unusual and atmospheric setting for the seriously fine food which people travel great distances to sample. There are a number of local bars that provide traditional irish menus and many other great places to eat out,that we would be happy to recommend on request! Cashel also boasts a Mediterranean and Indian restaurant, along with a number of Chinese restaurants and take-aways.


There are 3 Horse Racing Tracks within a 20 minute drive of our B & B, Clonmel, Thurles and Tipperary Racecourses. You can also avail of Horse-riding in nearby Cahir. The area of Cashel is also renouned for its famous stud farms including: Ballysheehan Stud, Coolmore Stud and the famous Ballydoyle stud! Clonmel is also renowned for its Greyhound coursing. There is also a greyhound stadium in the nearby town of Thurles


There is a number of fantastic walks in Tipperary  ideal for nature lovers and walking enthusiasts, These include nearby Dundrum Woods, as well as  Clonmel Heritage Way and the Glen of Aherlow. The Glen of Aherlow leads into “The Vee” which is situated on the Tipperary/Waterford border and is part of the Knockmealdown Mountains.  A very popular spot with hill walkers, the Vee’s rugged landscape offers a tough but enjoyable experience for any hiker.
